Cold, cold, cold! Went there in December 2017. Lots of unique scenery, but aurora activity was too weak to see the Northern Lights. Too crowded with tourists at Blue Lagoon. Everything is expensive. Was shocked initially by the sulfur smell of the drinking water.

This is an expensive country to visit with food being very expensive as our souvenirs. Fuel is also quite expensive. Fuel is also quite expensive. I was in Iceland July and August 2020. The guest houses are absolutely amazing and I highly recommend them and many of the owners are extremely cautious about COVID-19 and care about all of their tourists.
If you can make this trip happen I would highly recommend you do it. Please respect Iceland and the resources as the infrastructure is not in place for the massive amount of tourists.

Definitely going back to Iceland. The closest place to heaven. Fresh seafood unlike anywhere else. Gorgeous scenery.
