Watch out for your luggage!

In August I was flying to China for my another semester of studies. It was a very long flight: Lviv(Ukraine)-Kyiv(Ukraine)-Beijing(China)-Shanghai(China). I was allowed to carry 2N checked luggage, 23 kg each. As it was my second time in China, and I had my room with some stuff there already, so I brought just some summer clothes and shoes with me. I had one big luggage and one smaller bag + backpack as a carry-on. When I arrived to Beijing, I had to pick up my stuff because I had an overnight wait there and the change of terminals. And what do you think? I didn`t see my big luggage (WITH EVERYTHING) on the carousel. All people already went away, just me and Chinese guy who agreed to help me out left there. I started to panic because it happened to me for the first time. He took me to the Lost&Found office, where they told me not to worry and fly to Shanghai, they will find my luggage and send it to me next day. I described how my luggage looks like (important: I had a picture of it!). Tip: you have to speak Chinese (as I do) or to find a person who can speak both English and Chinese to help you out. Those stupid guys in the airport speak really poor English! So, back to the story. I left the terminal with my smaller bag only, and waited for my flight to Shanghai for another 5 hours. And here the hell starts. I didn`t have anything of summer clothes and shoes on me. And it was around +36 and super humid in Shanghai. Luckily, I had some lingerie and towels. All the other things I had to buy. So, it`s extra money again. I was waking up every day thinking about my luggage, calling airlines and airports asking where my luggage is and why they don`t search for it with a proper speed!? I WAS WAITING FOR A MONTH!!! A MONTH!!! before they found it. I was ready to say bye-bye to all my clothes, shoes and I was really foolish to put my hard disk with all pics and videos for like 10 years into that lost luggage. So, I was ready to say goodbye to it as well. BUT after one month I got a happy call that my luggage is found and they will send it to Shanghai. Every day I was calling there, sending hundreds of e-mails, looking for people who could help me out. That was crazy. But I didn`t give up! And I got my priceless luggage with everything in it. Nothing was lost or stolen. I didn`t get any explanations or compensations tho. But that`s fine, I got a lesson!
