Archaeological site of Tašlihan.
In the grounds of Hotel Europe is the archaeological site of Tašlihan. It was built in 1543 as Gazi-Husrev Beg's endowment and originally contained a mosque, a fountain and shops. It also contained one of the oldest inns or caravanserais. It had two floors – a ground floor for storerooms and stables for 70 horses and a first floor with 30 rooms. Each room had its own chimney and heating system. The accommodation was free for three nights for tradesmen from other towns
