I've been to the dunes and some thick forest for camping — and I'd like to add this locations as my places. But I cannot as I have to select City and/or add category that's not relevant to my trip?

You can add a place like a forest. You need to go back to the trip you wanted to update. Then click on the «Edit» button. Find the right moment in your trip between the other places and click «Add place». You'll see the window with the most popular places. Try to type the name of the place you want to add. If you can't find the place you want to add, you need to click the «Sight» button below, and then you need to click the «Outside the city» button. You can rename the place you want to add. Select the Forest as the Category of sight, and then you can select Forest, for example. You can change the location of the place with your GPS coordinated in the Location section by clicking the Show coordinates button. You can type the coordinates you have and click the «Find» button. You can correct the position with a map. Then, you can click the «Add» button below.
