Curacao is an island which belongs to the Kingdom of Netherlands — in case you should register under Netherlands — it is semi independant with local government and own flag and also have an own ISO-Code as well as a Netherlands one — same issue is with Sint Marteen — one part of the island belongs to Kingdom of Netherlands and the other part belongs to France.
I'm confused too. Guadeloupe is an overseas region and department of France, while St Martin is an overseas collectivity of France. This means St. Martin has MORE autonomy than Guadeloupe, but Guadeloupe is listed as a separate country and St. Martin is not.
from my view 3Pulse should list a region as an separate country when it has its own ISO 3166 code. This kind of regions like Saint Martin = country code MF and also have a region code inside France ISO 3166 = FR-MF (but have no own Flag). Sint Maarten (the other part of the island) has its own flag and ISO 3166 = country code SX as well as a Region Code inside the Netherlands country code = NL-SX. So I would show it as 2 countries. In case of Guadeloupe is the same it has a ISO 3166-1 country code = GP as ISO 3166-2 region code inside France = FR-971 — For if ISO 3166-1 country code exist there should be a country even it has a region code from Main Country as well — also when having no own flag. Organisation should follow the ISO standards from the International Standard Organization!
That's a sensible method--and there are others. The Century Club has the loosest way of counting that I know of. They list former countries like Hawaii, and Turkey is two countries, one in Asia and one in Europe. Wikipedia lists Countries and Dependents: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_and_dependencies_by_population
look here — this is international standard — but 3Pulse has not fully adjusted to this standard — I will try to convince them. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_3166-1

Most of all, here I'd like consistency and logic.
