It largely depends how you travel. By train would be easiest albeit not direct. The area around the lake of Constance is full of historic sites with cities like Feldkirch and their alpine-mediterranean houses with arcades in its center, Bregenz situated directly at the lake of Constance famous for Wagner Bregenz festival, St. Gallen with one of the most famous libraries worldwide (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abbey_library_of_Saint_Gall), Zürich with a unique art museum, the FIFA or world football museum, a collection of succulent plants as nowhere on earth etc., then to Lucerne.
